Ellie & Kristian's Covid Wedding at St Cuthbert's Church

This beautiful wedding is our first full-on super duper wedding since lockdown.  It was an under 30 person wedding with all of the bells and whistles of a 150 guest wedding. 'Social Distancing' was of course adhered to, masks were worn, hands were sanitised but all in the very best taste. I've shared some of their brilliant ideas, terrific tips to retain romance whilst keeping everyone Covid safe, I hope they'll be helpful to those of you planning weddings soon.

Firstly it's important to say, this post is of epic proportions, so be warned, please don't embark on this blog voyage if you don't have time, if you do you'll be sorry, just saying!!!
I must tell you all just how fabulous this family is and just how much we adore them. We've known the beautiful Ellie since she was a tiny girl. Her gorgeous Mum Diane is one of our all-time favourite and best Flower Design customers, so much so, that a bit like Madonna, no surname is required, flowers for Diane are simply that, flowers for our Diane!! Both Ellie & Diane have the very best taste particularly when it comes to flowers, they aren't just flower lovers though, they are the very best of people, and we feel very blessed to have them in our lives.
So we pulled our team out of furlough for one week only. We were all delighted to be back in the FD studio, to be surrounded by a stupendously glorious collection of flowers and to be making flowers for Ellie & Kristian was indeed a privilege...

Part of the joy of this wedding was re-connecting with other wedding suppliers. These are the folks we work with daily, people we work alongside, sometimes physically, sometimes we just know they're part of the big and beautiful picture, the production. We are all cast members being directed by our Bridal couples and their families. We are all far more remarkable for the team effort, so here's the cast list, the ace team that made this day happen...
The brilliant Adam Joe Roberts, a superb photographer and an absolute pleasure to work alongside, unbelievably we worked together on the last wedding we did before lockdown for Laura & Patrick, and their pictures are sublime.
The Makeup and Hair Team did the most beautiful work, Jemma Cowell and Stephen, at The Hair Studio in Poulton.
The Gorgeous gown was by Rosario and shoes by Jimmy Choo.
The guys super smart suits were from Moss Bros, Ties, Pocket Squares and Masks were all made from Liberty London print.
The stationery was by the super gorgeous Ellie at Silk Beau.
The food and that was an experience in itself, entirely off the scale by all accounts, the chefs Eve & Brian from Be Chocolate, their front of house team led by Greg were exceptional too.
Chan from Sing Out Music is a huge favourite of ours, and it really was an immense pleasure to hear her sing.
The beautiful Marquee was from Ken at CK Marquees.

Our work stations were all covid friendly, all our tools labelled, hand sanitiser, desk cleaners all to the ready, most importantly we had a fully stocked tuck basket each.
We all got to work creating floral magnificence, back where we belong in the FD studio...
I had the most glorious time making Ellie's wedding bouquet.
In the FD Studio, making a beautiful Wedding Bouquet for our gorgeous Bride Ellie was heavenly. In the last 6 months, I've made just one other (we should have completed over 200) the rarity makes it all the more precious. Making a bouquet for Ellie, a bride we've known since she was a little girl, a bride who holds a special place in our hearts makes this moment beyond precious. We don't just make flowers, we make memories, and we make those flower memories with bucket loads of love and deep affection. I'd chosen flowers with particular significance, a Rose named Patience, Rosemary for Remembrance, Olive for peace and in recognition of the Italian wedding that should have been, Sweet Peas the Bride's Mum's favourite flower, Penelope Eustoma, Dahlia' Cafe au lait' our Bride's favourite flower, Eucalyptus to calm everyone, Love in the Mist and so much more besides
Shirl & I making the garland for the lych gate, we'd used the most fragrant collection of fresh herbs and foliage with Roses and Hydrangeas.

On Friday afternoon, we headed off to dress the Marquee with majestic, floral and foliage chandeliers.
The Marquee was provided by the great folks from CK Marquees.

The following morning at the crack of dawn, we were back at the Marquee with the table flowers.
Each section was numbered, so fitting it together like a jigsaw was a delight.

Eve & Brian from Be Chocolate were busy making breakfasts for everyone.
The wedding bouquets were boxed up and ready for presentation.

I do love the presentation of the wedding bouquets, it's a joy introducing all of the fresh flowers to our beautiful Bride and her Bridesmaids.

Penelope is so adorable, we'd made her a small pomander of fresh flowers to compliment Ellie's wedding Bouquet.

We dressed the front of Diane's house with a gorgeous design created to frame the front door.

The Bride's Grandad's cars were lined up outside, ready for the short drive to St Cuthbert's Church.
By 7am we were at Church preparing to dress the doorway and the lych gate

We loved this sign welcoming the guests and reminding them what it's all about...
Social Distancing Is temporary, Love is Permanent. This sign just outside the Church door welcomed the guests at Ellie & Kristian's wedding on Saturday. Everything had been considered, the guests were gifted face masks made from beautiful Liberty print fabric. Their hands were sanitised with a lovely Neom Organics hand gel, and the pews were separated with beautiful garlands of fresh Eucalyptus, Ivy and Gypsophilia.
Beautifully fragranced hand sanitiser
The Liberty Print Masks
Sphere's of Hydrangeas, Dahlias, Roses and Gypsophila, framed the ceremony space, the pews were dressed with garlands of foliage, Gypsophilia and Dahlias.
We'd garlanded the pews with fresh foliages and flowers, ensuring proper social distancing the pews were blocked off between those where the guests could sit.

The Lychgate looked so welcoming dressed with a full and fabulous garland of foliage, fragrant herbs, Roses and Hydrangeas.

The cutest ever red carper roller outers...

The Bride Groom Kristian arrived in vintage style.
Ellie's super handsome Bride Groom Kristian was wearing a boutonnière to compliment his Bride's Bouquet and to coordinate perfectly with his tie & pocket square from Liberty London his classic 3 piece suit was from Moss Bros.

There was a welcoming committee waiting for our Bride to arrive, everyone was distanced and in family bubbles.

The coolest Mum ever driving her beautiful daughter to Church...

Then there was a Baptism.

The bells!!!
Fresh fragrant Rose Petal Confetti, completely joyous...

Kristian driving his Bride from Church...
So this Marquee! It just looked spectacular, 14 people on the table in the foreground and 13 people on the tables in the background, everyone seated in their bubbles...
The hanging floral chandeliers looked and smelled absolutely fantastic.

Beautiful Wedding Cake by Cheryl from Too Nice to Slice

The beautiful stationery was by Ellie from Silk Beau.
Each place setting was dressed with a sprig of fresh Olive & Rosemary symbolising Peace & Remembrance.

The canapes looked so delicious by the Be Chocolate Team.

The Beautiful Chan from Sing Out Music

At night the candles were lit, and if it were possible, the Marquee looked even more magical.

Thank you to Diane, Ellie & Kristian for allowing us to be a small part of an incredible day we loved every second of it xxxx
