Flower Design Supper Club 20th November 2008

Oh what a night! Or two nights as it turned out, thank you so much to everyone for your support. The idea for the Supper Club came from Jason & I wanting to show beautiful flowers (that don’t just have a 7-14 day shelf life) and the diverse atmosphere that these romantic special blooms can create.
We imagined sharing a relaxed evening in the company of our favourite people, our friends and customers, not only this but it was an opportunity of introducing everyone to Number One and the lovely Jane from Pure Beauty who generously provided the table favours, we wanted to promote the ideal of buying and shopping locally so invited Stringers to provide the table ware and also to make a little money for Trinity Hospice. All of this was achieved and much, much more so once again Thank you!
Please note if you click on any of the coloured names of associated businesses this will link you to their website directly.

Dawn & Lindsay from Creative Cover Hire dressed the chairs and table top with perfectly co-ordinated shades, and offered our ladies fantastic value by creating this look at home for £100.00 they will come to you house cover your dining chairs, tie on bows and cover the table and roll the napkins, in other words completely transform your dining room, Claire said she couldn’t stop looking at it after the girls from Creative had been

Large Champagne flute filled with fresh cranberry jelly, finished with white Akito Roses, Phalaenopsis Orchids, Mosses and Christmas Roses.

LSA Glassware, sparkles in the candelight

Ruby Red Rose Napkin Dressings, these lovely corsages can also be worn by your guests.

These fabulous candelabras are available for your Chritmas table and can be loaned free of charge when you order the fresh flowers to decorate them.

Fresh Christmas Rose Place Settings, these are available from Flower Design, just give us the names of your guests and we'll do the rest.

Stringers of Lytham the one by the new Booths, were supremely helpful, we wanted a “Big Reveal” at the end of the evening so they loaned us 10 place settings inclusive of glassware and crackers, we wanted to create a visual spectacle, share with you all a beautifully dressed Christmas dinner table and with the help of Anne Marie from Stringers we were able to produce a table fit for royalty. Please do remember to say you saw their table ware at our event.

We discussed the romantic prowess of the British Male and concluded more training is required.

We shared with you all the divine Helebores/Christmas Roses, the magic these exquisite, delicate, little beauties conjured, captivated everyone, we did touch on their longevity and dismissed the thought as un-couth and unnecessary, they are quite simply a moment in time worth capturing and enjoying for slightly more than an evening, the memory of which lasts for ever.

I told of my plan to set up a road block on the M55 to keep everyone shopping on the Fylde, spies in The Trafford Centre and so on, I sincerely hope that you will all consider very carefully this warning, your local shops won’t survive recession and credit crunch without your support, us included, so I make no apology for tugging at your heart strings or running a guilt trip etc., shop here on The Fylde more than you ever have done before we all need you!

We used long burning candles so that these designs will last a number of family dinners over the festive season.

There was lots of time for socialising, Isobel Walker above and Jos & Elaine below.

Mark showing some great ideas with two ladels

We also wanted to introduce everyone to the joys of Number One South Beach a Hidden gem in the Crown of our much loved Fylde Coast. We hope you all thoroughly enjoyed Mark & Claire’s hospitality, Mark is an aquired taste but much like Marmite once you’ get used to it and you have discovered the pleasure you are completely hooked. The food was sensational and Mark’s canapés were superb we were really chuffed that the Buckingham Palace recipes had an airing.

A matching pair of Bell Jar arrangements, I used fresh gingers, Cymbidium Orchids and Safari Anthuriums alongside fresh Sylvia Proteas and Sillingia.

Jos Eglin & Elaine Matthews, we missed Sue Jukhoop sooo much and hope she is feeling much better.

My beautiful and glamorous assistant Sally showed our pieces in detail to each table

Everyone was presented with gilded orchid corsages.

Anne Singleton, I hope you enjoyed your birthday present!

The extremely effervescent Karen Oldroyd

A great night out for mothers & daughters Alexandra & Grace, so glad you could make it.

I had an excellent time and really loved seeing the table at the end what a superb idea, it was a really good girls night out I'll be in for my Christmas flowers soon, I am trying to organise a group to go to Number one, I've spoken to Creative and I am measuring my table up, I've also booked with the lovely Jane at Pure and will be visiting Stringers soon. Thanks for showing me the way my husband has fallen out with you though!
