Epic Blog Posting Celebrating Sophie & Swav's Gorgeous Gothic Wedding Flowers at Mitton Hall

Every year we get the huge pleasure of creating wedding flowers for our friends, for folks we've known for ever, for people we care about hugely, this really is a massive honour, a great privilege and a ginormous responsibility!!
Sophie and her brilliant family have been in our lives for many, many years,  the lovely Sophie and her fab brother Greg went to school with our daughters and we had the great joy of creating wedding flowers for their Dad Phil & Step Mum Jackie's wedding many years ago.

So for as long as I can remember the beautiful Sophie has had a passion for all things black, the 'Gothic look' was always on the cards but the addition, especially for Swav of DC & Marvel characters was a bit of a challenge, their mood board was spectacular and helped to inspire our designs.
We took it all in our stride and invited the whole family to come back to our studio to view a set of sample designs created just for Sophie & Swav...
Sophie's sample wedding bouquet was made back in February with a collection of 'Black flowers' including Black Baccara Roses, King Arthur Papheopedilum Orchids, Succulents, Schwartzwalder Calla Lilies, Black Tulips, Black Tie Dracena, Blossom branches and trails of Jasmine.
The Bride Groom's rather special Boutonniere featured a Deep red 'Black Baccara' Roses in honour of his Polish roots, we also planned to include his favourite comic book character
The Bride's Father's Boutonniere included a 'Ladies Slipper Orchid' and petals from a Protea
One of our 'Gothic Candelabras' dressed with black flowers and topped with candles wrapped in Black Tie Dracena Leaves
We had a superb team to work with on the day not least Lesley Anne, Emma and the fabulous team at Mitton Hall, the great folks from Pixies in the Cellar we can't wait to see their images, the hair and make up team were quite simply sublime Rebecca from Temple Beauty Clinic in Great Eccleston did the most fabulous job of the make up and the lovely Laura from Jo & Cass in Preston such gorgeous hair and then there was the breathtaking wedding gown from Dreamcatcher Bridal in Kirkham, Dawn and the team from Creative Cover Hire provided the Chair dressings and ceiling drapes.

We arrived bright and early as our Bride was getting ready in the 'Board Room', we dressed the entrance with two of our Floral Hearts framing the entrance

Our Floral Hearts were created by our Chloe and were made in a textured style with Mosses, Bark, Contorted Hazel, Orchids, Succulents, Jasmine, Tulips and Sweet Peas

In the Porch a cluster of Succulents, mosses, Lichen covered branches and Fir Cones

Sophie's wedding Bouquet looked magnificent I'd included Fritillaria, Scabious, Black Lissianthus, Vanda Orchids, Paphiopedilum Orchids, French Tulips 'Black Hero', Black Ranunculus, Anemones, Sweet Peas, Hellebores, Schwartzwalder Calla Lilies, Proteas and Jasmine
