Northern Lights Colours for Shelley & Ryan at Ashton Memorial & Lancaster House

This was a super special wedding for team Flower Design, our very lovely 'old' Flower Design Saturday Girl Shelley was getting married, now it's about ten years ago, when she last donned an FD uniform (we wore them back then), Vicky & Shirl had both worked with Shelley and tossed a coin to decide who would be going on the wedding (I couldn't as I'd promised to be at another wedding before Shelley & Ryan booked).
~
Beside's Shelley being part of the FD family she also went to school with our eldest Rebecca, as did Shelley's fabulous Bridesmaid Sarah, if all that wasn't enough Shelley's other Bridesmaid the lovely Joanne is an 'old' FD Bride Link, so to say this wedding was very special is somewhat of an understatement.

Shelley & Ryan's Mood Board was a spectacular one and celebrated the glorious colours of the 'Northern Lights' to recapture the moment when Ryan proposed. So, unusual flower varieties were called for, Shelley doesn't like Roses but loves Orchids and Calla Lilies, Proteas and Succulents all of which featured on their mood board.

The whole team worked on the designs the day before and we enjoyed every moment.

At last the big day dawned and our Vicky (she'd won the toss) & Adele presented the Bridal Bouquets
The Bouquets included a dynamic collection of fresh flowers; Phalaenopsis & Cymbidium Orchids with Proteas, Calla Lilies, Senecio, Snowberry, Succulents and teal coloured Hydrangeas

Our beautiful Bride the super lovely Shelley looked delighted with her bouquet (phew!!)

Vicky showed this bevvy of beauty how to carry their bouquets perfectly
Shelly's gorgeous Mum Scythian was wearing a fabulous wrist corsage to match her ensemble

Our team headed over to Ashton Memorial where the Boutonnieres were lined up ready to pin on to the lapels of the Groom and his Groom's Men
The Bride Groom's rather special boutonniere featured a Calla Lily with Berries and Hydrangea Florets finished off with silver bullion

Grandma's Freesia Boutonnieres
A simply elegant Calla Lily Boutonniere
Ryan, Shelley's super handsome Bride Groom complete with his rather special boutonniere

Vicky & Adele pinned on all of the boutonnieres making sure each one was pinned on perfectly

Inside Ashton Memorial the scene was set for the ceremony
Contorted Hazel and Willow with Orchids, Proteas, Calla Lilies, Hydrangeas and Snowberry dressed the ceremony space beautifully
Joanne and Sarah looked stunning and their bouquets complimented their teal gowns perfectly

Our gorgeous Bride arrived in this canary yellow Mustang

Shelley looked breathtakingly beautiful

Massive congratulations to Shelley & Ryan from all of the team here at Flower Design Events

The celebrations moved on to Lancaster House Hotel where the scene was set with a combination of high and low table designs
Our Enchanted Trees looked magical on some of the tables

We used a collection of 'Northern Lights' coloured glass to dress the top table with fresh flowers arranged in small groups and clusters

Tea Light Orbs and Orchids in Glass bulbs were hanging from the branches of our Enchanted Trees

Our work here was done, it was time to leave the party in full swing, huge thanks to Shelley & Ryan and both of their gorgeous families for choosing Flower Design to create their wedding flowers for them.

Hi to ALL the great staff who work at Flower Design. I have only just managed to look at this wonderful blog on our daughter Shelley, and her now new husband, Ryan's, wedding day.
You were all amazing and made the day very special in all the hard work involved in setting up their "Northern Lights" themed wedding reception. We can't thank you enough.
We hope you keep making all clients who book you for their special day as special as we felt at our daughters.
Kindest regards to you all Scythian Draper x
