Maria & Jonathan's Spectacularly Musical & Floral Wedding at St Mary's Church Rawtenstall & Browsholme Hall & Tithe Barn

Berto & I were up the crack of dawn as our lovely Bride lives somewhere in the middle of rural Lancashire half way up a mountain, a stunning location that takes you over moors, hills, rivers and dales, and some seriously un-made roads, our Berto took it all in his stride he's a pro driver and we arrived with all of our beautiful blooms in tact!!!
~
Whilst Berto was plotting our route to the Church in Rawtenstall I had the huge privilege of un-veiling and presenting our Bride and her Bridesmaid with the Bridal Bouquets, a profusion of vivid colour with a wild hedgerow gathered quality perfect for this neck of the woods.
The Bridal Bouquet carrying lesson was easy as these bouquets demand to be carried in a very relaxed, way, up or down they still look fab, there's no front or back and they look different from every angle

I'd included a vast array of English Summer meadow and hedgerow blooms in this gloriously 'Bundled Bridal Bouquet'  including Delphiniums, Stocks, Cornflowers, Freesia, English Garden Roses, Brodea, Thalaspi, Chamomile, Peppermint, Rosemary, Blackberries, Astilbe, Craspedia and Hydrangeas
I pinned on the Bride's Dad's Boutonniere of Astilbe, Brodea, Champagne Grass,  Daisies and Harlequin Hydrangea florets all tied up with some jute string

Berto & I found the Church right in the middle of Rawtenstall, we had to do a circuit to find somewhere to park and waisted a bit of time figuring out how to get out of the Asda car park we'd accidentally turned in to (It appears we weren't alone in making this minor diversion), we were there in plenty of time though
Our fragrant Bay trees dressed with Peonies, English Garden Roses, Stocks and Gypsophilia framed the front doors perfectly and some of candlelit lanterns created a warm welcome for the guests

I lined up a very wild and unique collection of Boutonniere ready for them to be pinned on to the Groom's Men as they arrived
Clusters of Cornflowers and Daisies made in a relaxed and natural style created a superb contrast with the sharp suits the Groom's Men were wearing but more of that in a bit...
Craspedia, Daisies, Rosemary and Harlequin Hydrangea 'Wild' style Boutonniere
The Groom's rather special Boutonniere featured a David Austin Rose Darcey with Astilbe, Rosemary, Brodea, Delphinium, Daisies and Hydrangea Florets
Boutonniere of yellow Rose Buds, Brodea and Gypsophilia
Boutonniere of Daisies
Fresh Blackberries were ripening in the gardens surrounding the Church
Inside this lovely Church two of our Baroque candelabras stood on pedestals framing the ceremony space, I loved Maria's idea of fusing sophistication with wild a relaxed blooms
The colours in the Candelabras mirrored the colours in the stain glass window

Berto & I had a huge treat, the Choir an amalgamation of three choirs (Rossendale Ladies Choir, BMS Singers and the Rossendale Male Voice Choir) and a fabulous Brass band (Corus Brass Ensemble) especially brought together by Kate Shipway who conducted all, just for Maria & Jonathan's wedding were rehearsing and what a joy it was to hear them sing and play
Maria's handsome Bride Groom Jonathan was first to have his boutonniere pinned on

Jonathan's Best Man and Brother Tony had a Boutonniere of Cornflowers, Brodea and pink Astilbe

Exquisite Poppies were dancing in the garden

The brilliant photographer on the day was one of our bestest friends Rob Berry, it really is a ginormous pleasure work with him (most folks know I have a not so secret crush on Rob but hey ho what can you do!!!!xxx) and we can't wait to see his images
Now sadly this beautiful, beautiful car couldn't make it up the hill to collect our Bride so the Brides lovely Mum and Bridesmaid's met the chauffeur at the bottom of the hill and they had the pleasure of travelling in style to Church
The Bridesmaid's colourful Bouquets looked spectacular against their deep blue gowns

The beautiful little Flower Girl's Posy was a smaller and simpler version of the older Bridesmaids Bouquets

Our fabulous Bride was greeted by the Reverend Daniel Burton who'd travelled over from his parish in Salford to conduct this very special wedding ceremony

Our Bride with her super proud Dad

Maria's exquisite gown was by Caroline Castigliano (I happen to know it's available from Dreamcatcher Bridal in Kirkham)

I do love a full on colour wedding bouquet

Bright Vivid English Garden Roses and Cornflowers with a plethora of Delphiniums and Stocks and sweet scented herbs in this glorious wedding bouquet

During his service Ftr Daniel burst into song with his rendition of 'Id do Anything' from Oliver
Huge Congratulations to Maria & Jonathan from all of the team here at Flower Design Events
The choir was just breathtaking with their rendition of the Beatles and Love Actually classic 'All you need is Love' (The Beatles version is here Link)

All of the congregation were up and clapping urged on by the fabulous conductor Kate Shipway

The glam Bride's Mum was wearing a blush pink un-wired corsage to compliment her ensemble

Did I mention how good these flowers smelled, the fragrance was heavenly

The celebrations moved on to one of my all time favourite venues Browsholme Hall & Tithe Barn where the scene was set for a magical and atmospheric wedding breakfast

The tables were dressed with a combination of high and low table designs, our Baroque Candelabras were surrounded by a wreath of voluptuous blooms in an array of vibrant colour
The Naked Cake created by our great friends Joe & Janine from Specialized Cakes in Burnley was also dressed with a plethora of fresh flowers

The dressed Bay trees framed the top table
Posies of fresh flowers in clean crisp glass (by LSA) vases were placed on mirrors and surrounded by tea lights

Our Silver Fruit Bowls filled to overflowing with fresh flowers and fragrant herbs, on mirrors surrounded by candlelit tea lights

Our work here was done it was time to leave the party in full swing, huge thanks to Maria & Jonathan for choosing Flower Design Events to create their wedding flowers for them.
