The Beautiful Midnight Blue, Samlesbury Hall Wedding Day of Amy & Lee Smalley

This was always going to be a superb wedding day, Jason first met Amy & her lovely Mum Julie at one of the open evenings at Samlesbury Hall they fell in love with our "Crystal Top Table Design" and the rest as they say is history.
When I had the pleasure of meeting up with them it was really just a case of dotting the i's and crossing the t's but then I did get to create an exquisite sample wedding bouquet in deep midnight blue and ivory shades including lots seasonal gorgeousness.
I included in the wedding bouquet fresh Stephanotis, Blue Classic Hydrangeas, Mistletoe, Eryngium thistles, Eucalyptus Globus, fresh Heather, Lavender, Rosemary, Phlox, Champagne Grass and lots of seasonal foliages.
The Bridesmaids hanging on Jason's every word, I don't know how he commands such attention, anyway the bouquet holding lesson went very well and the Bridesmaids were just fabulous carrying smaller versions of Amy's bridal bouquet

Amy and her Bridesmaids were all getting ready in The Bridal Lodge, it's an ideal space to be getting ready in, loads of room and lots of good lighting and within the grounds of Samlesbury Hall

The entrance to main building at Samlesbury Hall was framed by two of our lantern trees, creating a real warm welcome for the guests on such a wintery day

Amy's lovely Brother and Father, that's me straightening Dad's tie!!!

Don't they look gorgeous, a deep burgundy red Rose to match his tie for Amy's Brother and a Crisp white Rose with Champagne Grass and berries for the Bride's Father

The Groom and his Groom's men were all looking superb in their uniforms
Due to the number of guests the ceremony was held in The Great Hall, a truly breathtaking setting with such fabulous authentic features, a heavenly room to get married in.
We'd arranged two Candelabras on either side of the Registrars table and some lovely crystal candle lit designs on the Registrars table itself, the aisle was lined with hurricane lamps and beautiful fresh flowers and candles were arranged around the hall to create a romantic atmosphere.
The two candelabras on either side of the portrait of Queen Anne were on tall pedestal stands

The candelabras were surrounded by fresh Orchids, Tulips, Eryngium Thistles and Classic Blue Hydrangeas.
The Grand Piano within this magnificent stained glass bay window was also dressed with a collection of delicate designs in crystal ware

Lovely cake pedestals with arrangements of Gentiana, Roses, Tulips, Hydrangeas and Thistles

A roaring fire perfect for the end of November

A hurricane lamp design with a ring of fresh fragrant flowers and herbs surrounding the central lantern

The designs on the Registrars table were contained within two corners leaving space for the bridal bouquet in the centre

The boys were rehearsing the Guard of Honour under the watchful eye of Howard the Master of Ceremonies at Samlesbury Hall
Our Crystal Candleabra design surrounded by fresh flowers and foliages in Midnight Blue and ivory

The time was marching onward almost 1pm time to bring in the guests

Lee, Amy's uber handsome Bride Groom was looking only a little nervous
Howard organising all the guests and Julie Amy's totally gorgeous Mum

The beautiful Bridesmaids arrived first
They all looked completely stunning and carried their wedding bouquets perfectly
The Bridesmaids Posies were finished off with midnight blue handles, their bouquets included Stephanotis, White Sweet William, Bouvardia, Albiflora, Viburnum, Blue Hydrangeas, Roses, Lavender, Thistles and fresh Heather
Then our gorgeous Bride Amy arrived looking quite simply enchanting!
Howard talked them through the ceremony
Amy and her lovely Dad got into position
Angela the banqueting Manager at Samlesbury got busy with Amy's train ensuring that everything looked perfect for Amy's grand entrance.

Our great friend Ian was the Registrar and a superb job he did too, just the right amount of humour and solemnity ensuring a relaxed but meaningful ceremony!

Huge Congratulations to the brand new Mr & Mrs Smalley from all the team at Flower Design Events

The Great Hall was then transformed into the most magnificent banqueting Hall
Each of the guests tables were dressed with a Hurricane Lamp design fresh Hyacinths, Gentiana, Phlox, Orchids, Tulips and Roses surrounded the central candlelit lamp

The wedding cake looked so smart with cake topper design created to depict Amy's wedding bouquet but in miniature
We used miniature Floribunda Roses, Albifloras, Classic Blue Hydrangea Florets, Thistles and Lavender

The menu sounded delicious

The Top table was dressed with our collection of Crystal Candelabras, Candlesticks, Cake stands, Dessert Dishes, Liqueur glasses and baskets all filled with lots of lovely fresh fragrant flowers

Those midnight blue florals are just fabulous, with the other accents you incorporated! From the bouquets to the reception table centerpieces, everything looked so lovely. (And how romantic is that "crossed sabers" exit?)

Hi Jane,

I`m a bit of a technophobic ! tried to post a comment but with no success !so i`v emailed you my comments...hope you can send them were they need to go.

WOWZER !! A perfectly fabulous day, the venue, the dress, the list goes on but the FLOWERS well ! we first saw Flower Design at an open evening at Samlesbury Hall and fell in love with the top table of crystal, flowers and candles. It was the nod to vintage we were looking for but very romantic and definitely had the wow factor. At our first meeting with Jane we were all smiles. An hour and a coffee later and we knew Jane had understood what we were hoping for. After seeing and smelling a mockup of Amys ( bride) bouquet we were thrilled and lookin forward to the day. We couldn't have asked for more, the floral displays, bouquets, candles and crystal were stunning and attention to detail was fantastic. The one thing all our guests commented on ....after the dress of course... were the flowers so much variety and twinkly crystal, the scent filled the room and the colours worked perfectly, the Great Hall looked truely magical . A fabulous and friendly team we can't thank you enough. Many many thanks to Jane, Jason and all at Flower Design.
PS The pics on your blog are a fab bonus we loved them.

Kindest regards Julie, Bernie and the new Mr and Mrs Smalley.
