The Full & Fabulous Posting of Carla & Andy Blackley's Peckforton Castle Wedding
This is Carla's Moodboard, designed and created by the lovely Carla, which is how it all began....
Carla & Andy are such a wonderful couple, I love it when a groom is fully involved in the planning, they really do enjoy their day more and Andy was no exception.
This was quite a complex day, A Civil ceremony in the Great Hall, followed by a blessing in the Chapel, then a drinks reception in the courtyard marquee before a magnificent banquet back in the Great Hall then finally partying the night away in the Marquee, I hope you're all keeping up!!!!
Carla & Andy had planned this day exquisitely, considering every detail and ensuring their guests had the very best day possible.
The day started really early with Jason delivering the bridal bouquets up to Carla's bedroom and doing the FD wedding bouquet holding lesson...
The bridal bouquet reminded me of "Floral Confectionary" Sugared almond shades, delicate blooms gathered together in a fragrant bouquet I included many of my personal favourites which thankfully happened to be Carla's too, lovely David Austin Roses; Juliet, Miranda, Emily & Patience, White Peonies, "You & Me Together" Hydrangeas, Lily of the Valley, Rosemary, White Peonies, Blackberries, Nerines and lots more gloriousness!
Andy was as ever uber cool we'd created a very special boutonniere of Lily of the Valley, Blackberries, Rolled Rose Petals, Rosemary, Alchemilla Mollis and a beautiful Rose
The Groomsmen were all wearing Sweet Avalanche Boutonnieres
The scene was set in the Great Hall at Peckforton Castle ready for the ceremony
We used our freestanding floral arch which was dripping in pearls and diamante strands
Each of the Chairs lining the aisle were adorned with fragrant posies of Stocks, Astilbe, Astrantia, Sweet Avalanche Roses, Amaranthus and the palest pink Hydrangea imaginable, to complete the look strands of delicate pearls were entwined into the design.

The FD Events Arch looked superb as a backdrop to the ceremony, the frame was decorated with clusters of Roses, Hydrangeas, peppermint, Oregano, Astrantia and Amaranthus trails, the shades were just perfect against the "Rose tinted" sand stone of the Castle walls
The registrars table was draped in a garland of matching fragrant flowers with crystal candlesticks at either end of the table
Tall column shaped designs flanked the entrance to The Great Hall again dripping in pearls, diamantes and candlelit orbs
A completely adorable flower Girl
The most beautiful Bride
And from upstairs in the minstrels gallery the very best view
The owl flies in to the Best Man with the wedding rings
Huge and ginormous congratulations to the brand new Mr & Mrs Blackley
A fabulous pale Green & Pearl Grey epaulette corsage
It all looks so heavenly
The bouquets really did smell divine
Everyone made their way over to The Chapel
Andy and Carla were the last to go in together
The ends of the pews were dressed with fresh flowers
Jason and Emily had helped the C&B team to transform the Great Hall into a full on Banquet Hall
The arch was just behind the Bride & Grooms Chairs, the candles had now been lit and illuminated the glass orbs hanging from the arch
The tables were decorated with candle sticks and candelabras
Each table centrepiece was a celebration of magnificent Roses, Peonies, Sweet peas, Stocks, Astilbe, Blackberries and lots of fresh herbs and grasses, the addition of candlelit glass orbs hanging from crystal strands created warmth that just lifted the fragrance of the flowers to such dizzy heights that I just wish you smell them.
What an absolute joy this wedding was, we really are delighted that Andy & Carla chose Flower Design Events to create the flowers for their truly magical wedding day!!! massive thanks to them both!
