Louise & Jon's English Country Wedding at All Hallows Church, Great Mitton and Mitton Hall

Louise & Jon live in New York and really wanted to have a truly "English Wedding" complete with a very English collection of exquisite fresh flowers.
It is always a complete joy to create bridal flowers for Brides who have an absolute love and passion not only for their Bride Groom's but for flowers too, no-one could love their flowers more than the lovely Louise.
Louise had found our blog over a year ago and had been inspired by the variety of flowers we use and hopefully by the style of designs, when we did eventually meet following lots of email correspondence we completely connected and were totally on the same page in terms of the flowers we both loved!
When the "Big Day" finally arrived I was so excited to present Louise with her delectable wedding bouquet ....
Louise had a collection of David Austin's finest Roses, Love in the Mist, Lily of the Valley, Blossoms, Sweet Peas, Peonies, Aquilega, Astrantia and fresh herbs and foliages.
The Flower Girls heavenly posies of fragrant Sweet Peas
The fabulous Emma Draper was busy doing Louise's Make up and very gorgeous it looked too when it was all completed

Then we were off to All Hallows Church, which is literally just across the road from Mitton Hall, we'd dressed their magnificent internal arch with a plethora of Louise & Jon's favourite flowers, Juliet, Patience & Miranda Roses, Hydrangeas, Peonies, Astilbe, Ivy Trails, Hosta Leaves, Nigella, Dill, Amaranthus, Ferns, Spirea, Asters and Peach Avalanche Roses.
The windowsills had Rose Petal filled Hurricane lamps that were surrounded by fresh foliages

The Pews were dressed with exquisite posies of White Lilac, Roses, Peonies, Astilbe and Hosta
On the floor just in front of the Altar which is where the Register will be signed, we'd created a parallel Arrangement that fitted the space perfectly

The Ushers arrived for us to pin on their boutonnieres of Juliet Roses

The Buttonholes included a Juliet Rose, a Scabious Seed Head, a sprig of Rosemary, some fresh Blackberries and Ivy Leaves
Gill Mack is the very proud Vicar in charge of All Hallows, she does a fabulous job and her sermons within the wedding service are always so well thought out and considered, I really enjoy sitting in on her services.
We had dressed the arch way outside, again with a really fragrant collection of fresh English Country flowers, it was colourful and really welcoming for all of the guests
We used Bay Trees dressed with lots of lovely Roses
We had a collection of Wrist corsages and Boutonnieres to hand out and attach
The guests arrived by Vintage buses
The Bride Groom Jon and his Best Man
A wrist Corsage of Cymbidium Orchid and Hydrangeas
Another Wrist Corsage of Rolled Rose Petals, Orchids, Astrantia and Scabious
Everyone seemed to want to have their photograph taken under the floral door arch, this is the Groom's parents
For the Groom's Mum we'd created a corsage to compliment her black and white ensemble, it included rolled Rose Petals, Blackberries, Agapanthus, Akito Roses, Love in the Mist and fragrant Lily of the Valley

Gill was rather pleased with the number plate on the vintage car
The Bride's fabulous Mum and the two teenage Bridesmaid's arrived.

Louise's Mum was wearing a delicate corsage of Lily of the Valley and Rolled white Rose Petals
~
We'd made smaller versions of the bridal bouquet for the two beautiful Bridesmaids
The gorgeous flower Girl's posies of fragrant Sweet Peas

Sweet Peas have an innocence and delicacy that makes them the perfect choice for Flower Girls

Louise looking gorgeous arrived with her lovely Dad

The retinue made its way up the pathway

We'd sprinkled lots of Rose petals all around the entrance for Louise and The Brdesmaid's to step on and end enjoy the fragrance
The ceremony was just beautiful
I love the way the arch framed the ceremony

The Bride and Groom and witnessses made their way through the arch way to the main altar for the signing of the register
The Violinist was truly superb (I wish I knew her name I really would recommend her if anyone knows please put a comment on or send me an email)
I love how glorious this all looks surrounded by flowers

Huge congratulations to the very, very happy couple
The Bride & Groom came out of the other door where the porch area had been dressed with fresh posies of Hyacinths and Roses, and a collection of lanterns
The Bay trees flanked the exit Door Way

The Page boy was so good, he smiled all day, we'd made him a tiny Juliet Rose bud for his buttonhole

One of my particular favourite photographers David Murray from Cheshire, he has a sensitivity and delicacy to his photography that I really appreciate, I'm really looking forward to seeing his images.

We had such a wonderful day with Louise and Jon and felt truly honoured to have been a small part of such a very special day, many, many thanks to Louise and Jon and their families for trusting us, bearing in mind most of the plans were done via email from New York to Lancashire, every wedding we do is special but this was extra special not least because Louise really had high expectations and knew her flowers!
We know they're going to have wonderful life together and hope that the fragrance from their wedding day will bring happy memories flooding back to them, we hope they plant lots of Sweet Peas and David Austin Roses where ever they go!!!!!!!!
~
Huge thanks to them for the very special gift they sent to us, we intend to share and enjoy it with all the team on a day when we don't have a wedding!!!!

Aw, this is just brilliant, Jane. Thank you for your lovely kind words and thank you to both you and Jason for the great photos. Fewer of me would be just fine, but the flowers look fantastic! : ) And thanks again of course to the whole team for making my floral ideals become a reality. Your blog has really helped bring back some of the great joy of the day. We've just (about an hour ago) landed back in NYC - my first time back for just over 2 months ! Just had a note from David Murray too who says the official pics are almost ready so I'll send you the link when I get it. Louise Latham is the violinist, btw. She's Manchester-based and has a fairly impressive CV, has worked with various orchestras, including the BBC, if I remember correctly. She's my sister Laura's violin 'mentor', which is how I found her and Alex, the pianist who accompanied her and who is based in Lancaster (we had a truly pan-Lancastrian day - hooray! - with a little bit of Cheshire thrown in for good measure, of course). I thought the Lark Ascending was one of the great highlights of the day (after the flowers, naturally...). I loved your words about Gill the vicar and hope she will appreciate them too. She was quite literally a godsend and such a crucial part of setting the tone and mood for the day. Your point about her sermon was dead-on. She made it so lovely and personal but with a very light touch. I'm so grateful to everyone, not least yourselves, who helped make this such a brilliant and memorable day for us and made it run so smoothly in spite of ourselves and the whimsical weather, which nonetheless turned out so nicely for us in the end. All our guests were so extremely complimentary about the fabulous flowers that I really think you should give yourselves extra special credit for an incredible job. We shamelessly wallowed about among the many flowers we took away from the hall in the days before the honeymoon, even after giving away a number of posies and arrangements to various friends and relatives.

Take care of yourself and please try to keep the working till after 2am to a minimum... (yes, our spies told us about that).

Will be in touch soon.

Love from
Louise + Jon
