Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board Tourism Awards 2009 at Ribby Hall 10th June 2009
We were asked by the Tourist Board to provide table centres for this very important event.
We deliberated and cogetated over the benefits of tall designs and the benefits of low table designs with Nikki Duckworth and all the lovely people at The Tourist Board, we made them samples, photographed them, discussed some more and eventually a decision was made and we created all tall designs in conical vases, these designs were made in vases varying from 55cm to 90cm in order to give texture and rhythm to the room.
The Tourist Board really wanted a smart contemporary vibe but also wanted to maintain a feeling of celebration, with this in mind we selected special flowers that are uplifting and elegant, gorgeous white Delphinium Elatum, the almost black Schwartzwalder Calla Lilies, Glorious Grand Prix Roses a celebration of The Lancashire Rose, Deep Burgundy Amaryllis, Blackcurrant Antirhinnums, Pistache Anthuriums, Deepest Red Gladioli, Green Anastasia Blooms and Brunello Lilies we teamed these fantastic flowers with luscious tropical foliages including Dracena & Palms, all of this and we managed to keep to budget.
The Tall conical vases were loaded with burgundy jelly and sat on round mirror plates to reflect the flowers and the colour of the jelly.
The flowers themselves were kept to a narrow column shaped design to ensure that everyone had a good view of the stage and also to reflect the shape of the vases.
This event is extremely prestigous and Sally and I were thoroughly impressed with the amount of planning and detail considered by the team organising the awards ceremony, Nikki was so thoroughly professional and clear with her brief and though flowers were a nuance and consequently an un-known quantity we sincerely hope they'll want to repeat next year, no stone was left un-turned in investigating the use of our flowers and our services.
The Hand Ties were actually in their own water bubbles inside the vases to make them easy for guests to take them home.
