Dazzlingly in Starlit Black & Diamonds, Rachel & Andrew's Wedding Day at Lancaster Priory & Bartle Hall

INSPIRATION & COLOUR THEMES

Classical Elegance

The colours will be White, Dark Green (No Variegation) and a Splash of Deep Red for The Priory.

I imagined a day filled with simplicity, classical elegance and beauty, the absolute simplicity of exquisite Phalaenopsis Orchids with crisp white Rose buds and deep dark green glossy foliages.

The Priory was to be dressed simply but beautifully, concentrating on the central aisle and framing the ceremony, Fabulous white Delphiniums and Red Gladioli and some gorgeous deep red Anthuriums.

Everyone was very pleased with our floral displays...
Tall wrought Iron free standing contemporary pedestals were created in a more sculptural style using a selection of fresh signature flowers, trails of Phalaenopsis Orchids & tropical glossy leaves surrounding a huge chunky pillar candle.

The photographer for the day was Lisa Aldersley from Bolton, she was just brilliant, really realxed, unobtrusive and professional, her Website and Blog are simply stunning, inspirational in fact, and I can't wait to see her work from this glorious wedding.

These Pew Ends are designed to dress the aisle. A cluster of fresh Ruby Anthurium, Gloriosa Rothschild and a gorgeous Akito Rose with fragrant foliages tied with co-ordinating ribbon and attached to the end of alternate pews

THE FABULOUS GROOM: Andy
The Groom was wearing a grey morning suit with a black and grey tie.
And wore a Special individually designed boutonnière created from a single white Phalaenopsis Orchid used in the bridal bouquet, a small orchid with dark green leaves and Champagne Grass finished with the stem bound in black satin and studded with a diamante pin in his lapel.

Best Man Ben & Usher Jeff both wore boutonnières consisting of a signature Akito white Rose together with key elements used in the bridal bouquet

The Grand Entrance Bay Trees dressed with fresh co-ordinating white roses and Nephrolepis ferns.
ADULT BRIDESMAIDS: Nicola and Eleanor
Our gorgeous adult bridesmaids were wearing gowns by Coast, full length and sleeveless in black. I designed bouquets of a single stem of white Phalaenopsis Orchid enveloped in a green Anthurium leaf with a white tulle handle bound with a single black band studded with diamante pins
The exquisite little Flower Girls Ella and Lani aged 4 and 5 were wearing black ballerina style dresses, Rachel chose a couture inspired bejewelled posy shaped smaller version of the bride’s bouquets for them both to carry.

We met Rachel & the girls at The Priory with their bouquets and did the bouquet holding lesson in the porch, which was different but really lovely too.

Rachel was wearing a New Collection Benjamin Roberts gown I'm not sure where Rachel bought her fabulous gown from but "Dreamcatcher Bridal" in Kirkham are stockists of this glamarous designer.

THE BRIDAL BOUQUET
The bouquet I created for Rachel was in a classic “Flower Design” hand tied style with Exquisite lengths of White Phalaenopsis, defined by some lovely white Roses “Akito” & “Patience”, the foliage was to be minimal and be dark glossy green. The bouquet was finished with a white tulle handle with an ivory satin band studded with a little diamante.

The ceremony at The Priory in Lancaster was conducted by The Arch Deacon of Lancaster, it was a lovely, romantic and dignified service and the choir were amazing.

The Bride & Groom left to the peel of bells

It was a little windy up there on the top of the hill but luckily the escaped veil was captured by Nicola.

Then on to Bartle Hall for the Wedding Breakfast, The Windsor Suite has just been re-furbished and it looks spectacular.
The sparkle of diamond cut crystal on fine black satin hanging from glistening silver candelabras and high shine Glass Goldfish bowls with simple orchids and roses within.

The Candelabras were dripping in diamonds and orchids

The team at Bartle are just exceptional and many thanks to Suzanne for all of her help.

I decorated the immaculate cake with corsages of fresh orchids.

For the evening reception the couple moved their party into The Balmoral suite, where the red flower arrangements from The Priory looked stunning.
I used the pew ends on the tables in small mirror cubes and sprinkled diamante dew drops on the black tables, the chairs, table cloths and ceiling drapes by Creativie Cover Hire added to the nightclub atmosphere.

Thank you so much to Andy & Rachel for inviting Flower Design to be part of their big day, Rachel and Andy were very focused and gave me a brilliant brief, they knew the look they wanted to achieve, I thoroughly enjoyed working with them, we had some inspirational meetings and they absolutely deserved the perfect day they enjoyed.
We want to offer you our warmest congratulations and also to say a huge thank you for the Pimms & sandwiches it was such a treat.

Dear Jane, We've come back to visit your blog after a long absence, and we're soooooooo impressed with how it's grown and prospered. The whole experience is so upbeat, the photos are so well done and, needless to say, the flowers so lovely!

It was great to see the whole family peppered throughout the pages, especially your Mum, whom we haven't seen in a long time.

All for now. Come and see us when you can (you can also blog from here, you know!)

Much love for everyone,

Auntie Maureen & Uncle Mike
