Chris & Samantha's 'Sugared Almond' Shaded Wedding Day at St Cuthbert's & The Grand

I have just a few things to say before I launch into this blog posting. Firstly, I/we love these two families, we all have a long history and both families, Mums, Dads, Grandparents, Siblings (in laws) & Cousins are all quite simply splendid and it was such a privilege to be asked to create the flowers for such an important day for a bunch of wonderful people.
Secondly, the Bride & Groom are just blissful, a joy to work for, they gave me a clear brief to work to  and a free rein to get creative for which I am very grateful. Thirdly, the Bridesmaid's were sensational absolute naturals  except for 'Ruby & Dolly' (you know who you are) I don't want to work with you two again, you were terrifying and I didn't even get a picture of you!!!  Finally, Wanda is just divine, I loved the carriage, the driver was just perfect and we loved dressing all of them with just a few well placed flowers.

So with all of that said, I hope, dear reader, you won't mind the rather self indulgent number of photographs...
Our Shirl, Berto & I were lucky enough to present our beautiful Bride, the lovely, Samantha with her rather glorious wedding bouquet in 'Sugared Almond' shades of Pink, Coral, Cream, Apricot, Lilac and Ivory
The Bridesmaids carried smaller versions of the Bridal Bouquet

Outside in the yard the super gorgeous 'Wanda' was having a shower and getting beautified in preparation for her big moment
The Bride's Father's own 'Rolls Royce' of Carriages was polished and gleaming
Posies of flowers dressed both handles and the whip holder
We all headed off to the iconic Lytham Church St Cuthbert's where Jason had already dressed the Lytch Gate with a spectacular garland of fresh flowers created by our Ruby
Two sweet scented Bay Trees dressed with Roses and Lissianthus flanked the front door

Inside this beautiful Church two pedestal designs framed the start of the aisle and two more stood at the head of the aisle framing the ceremony space
Pedestals of Delphiniums, Roses, Dahlias, Hydrangeas, Stocks, Astilbe and Sweet Peas, created a warm and fragranced welcome for the guests
Posies of fresh flowers decorated the end of each alternate pew lining the aisle

In the porch I lined up all of the Boutonnieres and Corsages ready to pin them on to the all important Groom and guests as they arrived.
The Bride Groom's Boutonniere included a collection of Roses, Rolled Petals, with Sweet Peas and Hydrangea Florets to match his Bride's Bouquet
The Best Man Richard's Boutonniere featured a 'Miss Piggy' Rose

The Groom's Mum's Corsage of fresh Lily of the Valley, with Rolled Rose Petals and Love in the Mist
Grandma's Corsage of Snowflake & Akito Roses

We'd made this Boutonniere for one of the Usher's Chris, we'd created flowers for his wedding to the lovely Charlotte a few months ago and this Rose 'Keira' featured in their wedding.
Our super handsome Bride Groom Chris was first to have his Boutonniere pinned on
Mixed Pastel shaded Boutonniere created especially for the Bride Groom Chris
I am reliably informed that this is Chris (3) complete with his especially created Boutonniere (it seems our Bride Groom is Chris (2) more of Chris (1) later)

The Bridesmaid's all looked truly lovely

The totally fabulous Bride's Mum Wendy, who looked stunning, we'd created a wrist corsage to compliment her pale grey ensemble

The Bridesmaid's Posies included Garden Roses Juliet and O'Hara with Miss Piggy, Peach Avalanche, Vendella, Snowflake and Peonies, Sweet Peas and Love in the Mist

'Here Comes the Bride'.... & the beautiful Wanda driven by Mick

Our Bride looked absolutely breathtaking as she arrived with her proud Dad Paul

The exquisite gowns were from the great folks at Dan Kerr Bridal
Wanda was wearing a 'Miss Piggy' Rose with Sweet Peas and Hydrangea florets

 Heavenly...

Samantha's Bridal Bouquet looked almost luminous I'd included a plethora of sweet scented Garden Roses O'Hara, Juliet, Patience and Miranda with other Roses, Vuvuezela, Vendella, Miss Piggy, Peach Avalanche and Snowflake with Sweet Peas in a heavenly array of lavender and lilac shades, with Love in the Mist, Senecio and Thalaspi

The Bridesmaid's Posies were smaller simpler versions of the magnificent Bridal Bouquet

Reverend Hurst delivered the most lovely Sermon, so personal and enjoyed by everyone

Massive Congratulations to Chris & Samantha from all of the team here at Flower Design Events

The Photographers on the day were the lovely Howard & Michelle we're looking forward to seeing their images

The celebrations moved on to the magnificent surroundings of The Grand Hotel in St Annes one of our all time favourite wedding venues
Inside the St Annes Suite the tables were decorated with a combination of high and low table centres
Our tall elegant 'Dahlia' Vase from LSA towered over the tables and were topped with magnificent designs of fresh Delphiniums, Roses, Hydrangeas, Dahlias and Sweet Peas
Inside the vases in the base was a posy of Astilbe, Roses, Dahlias, Hydrangeas and Sweet Peas ensured the guests had something lovely to look at in the centre of the table
The other tables were dressed with a collection of fresh posies some of which were covered with glass cloches
Along the length of the top table the Bridal Bouquets were captured under our huge glass 'Bells' posies of fresh flowers were arranged in our 'bulb' vases and all were placed on a row of mirrored square tiles
