The Spectacular Wedding Day of Angela & Matthew at St Catherine's Church Boot & Irton Hall in Holmrook

This was an epic wedding of gargantuan proportions up in the very northern reaches of The English Lake District our floral journey with these gorgeous folks started with some pretty creative meetings and the creation of a very fabulous Mood Board and subsequent sample designs...
The Sample designs were made a couple of months ago and celebrated all of the gloriousness of their mood board

At last the big day arrived and Jason and I headed out super early in a huge hired van (Our Van's just weren't big enough for all of the fab flowers that needed transporting), we'd checked the width of the roads we'd be traversing (We avoided the Sat Nav instructions) and arrived at Irton Hall in plenty of time to make the presentation of the Bridal Bouquets

I showed our gorgeous Bride and her lovely Bridesmaids how to carry their bouquets perfectly

We had the great pleasure of working alongside photography legend David Stubbs
Angela's beautiful wedding bouquet included a beautiful collection of Summer blooms Peonies in Blush & Ivory with English Garden Roses Keira,  Silver lace and Snowflake, fragranced Freesia, fresh fragrant Lily of the Valley and sweet scented Sweet peas
Sarah from 'The Dollz'  was looking after the fabulous make up  she was very patient whilst I did the lesson, there was a lot of frivolity in that room which is exactly how it should be and sets the tone for the whole day, you can't beat laughter for getting everyone in the mood

The VW Camper Van had already arrived to take the Groom and his Groom's Men to the pub en route to Church
We headed off to Church to find that the road was narrower than expected in certain areas where stones jutted out of the walls, a very hairy few minutes passed where our husband and wife status was tested to the max, Jase was driving and I was guiding, he does find it difficult to take instruction and he double hated that I was taking photographs
We held or breaths and finally arrived at this idyllic little Church of St Catherine in Boot  they have the most fabulous Minister there the very dynamic Reverend Canon Gill Hart
The arrangements were quite huge and Jason had quite a distance to carry them but it all helps to keep him fit
We dressed the little Lytch Gate with one of our lovely Floral Hearts

The Floral Heart included a heavenly collection of sweet scented Jasmine, Peonies, Roses, Dahlias and Hydrangeas welcomed the guests as they arrived

Just inside the porch a collection of small glass jars each filled with a posy of Sweet Peas, Peonies, Philadelphus and jasmine dressed the benches
Inside this heavenly Church we'd dressed the windowsills with cascading designs of English cottage garden blooms including Passion Flower, Larkspur, Stocks, Roses, Peonies and Sweet peas

Rev Gill's Teddy Bears which played a huge part in the ceremony
The two Secret Garden Urns were filled with an abundance of fresh materials all in an English Garden style, we included Fresh Larkspur, Delphiniums, Larkspur, Spirea, Passion Flower, Philadelphus, Jasmine, Astilbe, Dahlias, Peonies, Roses, Stocks and Hydrangeas
We lined the Boutonniere up ready to pin them on to the Gentlemen as they arrived

Darren Robinson the fantastic Magician was lucky enough to be a guest and arrived pushing the double buggy with his two adorable boys Charlie & Ronnie

It was fabulous to see Darren and Aga out enjoying themselves (Aga was looking far too gorgeous to say she's a mum of twin boys!!!xxx)
We pinned on all of the boutonnieres ensuring each one was perfectly positioned

Just behind the Church were these stepping stones, the perfect spot for our very quick picnic lunch whilst the guests all went for a ride on the Eskdale Railway

We managed to catch up with the train and overtake it

We arrived back at Irton Hall ages before the guests

The Wedding Breakfast and after party were being held in the huge marquee on the front lawn
Our Floral Heart welcomed guests at the entrance

Inside the magnificent Marquee the scene was set with silver sequin table covers and our huge 'Flower Bomb' table centres
These magnificent 'Flower Bombs' were on top of our hugely tall Glass column vases, the explosion of flowers on top included Phalaenopsis Orchids, Philadelphus, Passion Flower, Jasmine, Hydrangeas, Dahlias, Larkspur, Peonies, English Garden Roses and Astilbe
The Peonies were particularly glorious by this point in the day

We'd included an incredible collection of exquisite garden foliages like Hostas, Sperengerii, Philadelphus, Herbs Rosemary, Oregano and Peppermint, the fragrance in the marquee was heavenly

The seating plan and table names was quite unique

The Top Table was dressed with our 'Hanging Gardens of Babylon' design and waterfall of fresh blooms cascading over the front of the top table, framing the speeches so perfectly

The table names were brilliant

Beautiful Sweet Avalanche Rose

The heavenly cake was created by the super talented Kelly Dee from Pink Frosting Cake Company

Howard Wing was all ready to entertain everyone and after his set the ace folks from The Rush would be ensuring the dance floor was never empty
Our gorgeous Bride & Groom were first to arrive back from the train trip

So gorgeous...

The adorable little Flower Girl Katie

Our work here was done it was time to leave the party in full swing many thanks to Angela & Matthew and both of their fabulous families for choosing Flower Design Events to create their wedding flowers for them
