The Colours of Sri Lanka at This Spectacular Wedding at Samlesbury Hall for Shanika & Matthew
Wow!!! I just loved this fabulous couple, they have seriously eclectic taste, right up my street I can tell you, a match made in heaven!! we had the best time at their often late evening appointments.
I think that no-one was as surprised as Matthew at the selection of colours the lovely Shanika chose, for my part I wanted to include flowers that represented their individual heritage, Sri Lanka's national flower is a "Blue" Water Lily, sadly not in season for the wedding so we plumped for another native flower the Blue Vanda Orchid, alongside it English Roses, a Red one for Lancashire & a White one for Yorkshire and a plethora of vibrant loveliness besides! The icing on the cake I think was a little tiny wooden Ladybird, this mini motif was repeated delicately throughout the wedding flowers!!!!
This is the trial bouquet a design created a few weeks prior to wedding for Shanika to try out and of course to get to know, when we hand over the real bouquet on a wedding day it's like greeting an old friend but this time she's all "Done up" for the wedding, the design is more refined and polished!!!
The little ladybirds first appearance on the trial wedding bouquet
The Bouquets are always packaged up enveloped in lots of Flower Design tissue, making the big reveal such a joy!!!
Shanika & the ladies were all getting ready in the Bridal Lodge at Samlesbury Hall
Shanika's Bridal Bouquet a heavenly and luscious combination of zesty, vivid colour, I included the all important Blue Vanda orchid, Monarda, Black Eyed Beauty Zantedeschia, Peonies, Sweet Peas, Ixia, Blackberries, Poppy Seed Heads, Champagne Grass, Brodea, Alchemilla Mollis and Roses
Shanika was thrilled, what a relief!!!
The Bride's Mum had a Vanda Orchid for her hair
To greet the guests as they arrived at Samlesbury Hall a magnificent Pedestal design was placed just by the entrance, laying the foundations for the visual extravaganza still to come
The Boutonnieres and wrist corsages were all ready to be pinned on when the guests arrived and our Rachael & Olivia were ready to meet and greet them with these exquisite blooms
I love this Rose Creme de la Creme
Our truly gorgeous and seriously handsome Bride Groom Matthew, I just loved his suit, a very simple white Rose the epitome of sartorial elegance
Again terrific suit but a slightly more voluptuous Red Rose Boutonniere
For the Bride Groom's Mum a collection of Rolled Rose Petals and individual Hydrangea Florets in her hair, perfect for those ladies not wishing to wear a hat!
Tiny Boutonnieres for the little people, she did seem slighty less excited about it than Olivia!!!
