Jonathon & Anita Ward's Winter Wedding Day at Samlesbury Hall, 2nd January 2010

Anita and her retinue were all getting ready at the picture postcard "Bridal Lodge" within the grounds of Samlesbury Hall, we were there early and the snow was falling beautifully around us as we delivered the bridal bouquets.

Our gorgeous Bride, Anita qualified as a florist before she became a midwife so the flowers were really important to her, we wanted to create something wintery with natural seasonal foliages but with a promise that spring is just around the corner so some fragrant bulb flowers; Hyacinths and Tulips were the perfect choice.

Each of the bouquets were finished with an individual vintage brooch.

Jonathon sent his Bride a romantic bouquet of Grand Prix Roses, the card message certainly made her smile, but we have no idea what he'd said.

We decorated the front door with swags hanging on either side of the door and two of our lantern trees, the Christmas Door wreath was refreshed with some complimentary violet ribbons.

The ceremony was to be held in this gorgeous room to the left of the front door, we dressed the registrars table with a candle lit design including fragrant Freesia and Cymbidium Orchids

The windowsills & ledges were dressed with wild ivy and clusters of candles

The Flower Girls posies

Each of these tiny flower girl posies were finished with a single vintage pearl ear-ring

Jonathon's special Boutonierre of threaded Hyacinths, Veronica, Cymbidium Orchid, Viburnum & Ivy Berries Jonathon's fab suit is by Marc Wallace

Now how's that for a transformation

The posy includes simple Spring flowers Hyacinth & Veronica

The fabulous Ken Robson, he's a seriously brilliant piano player who we have the pleasure of hearing regularly. The Best Man Ben having his buttonhole pinned on

Due to a little snow the bride opted for arriving in the warmth of her Father's car and I for one couldn't blame her for a second

Anita's very glamorous Mum

The lovely Kath Bates registrar making sure she has all of the Brides details.

Anita looked utterly stunning, classic and elegant
Anita's divine gown was designed by Lusan Mandongas
Malcolm Campbell conducted the ceremony beautiful

Many congratulations to a very, very happy couple

Everyone braved the elements and headed outdoors for some snowy photographs

Anita provided her own containers for the table centres so that they could be given away to her guests in their entirety.

The catering at Samlesbury Hall looked seriously appetising

This was a very magical day and Jason & I felt honoured to be a part of it, many thanks to Anita & Jonathon for choosing Flower Design

Incredible! These designs are stunning. I'm a wedding florist in Colorado, USA experiencing our first snowy day so I sat down to find inspiration for wintery bouquets and came across your Blog. I love the colors, textures and flower choices; how they suggest traditional winter designs in a completely non-traditional manner. Thank you for the inspiration. Rhonda E-Koons Florals by Rhonda LLC
